Important Ordering Instructions

Errors and Ommissons: I appologize for an errors on my website.  I use the rodeo program and sometimes it is not accurate.  If you find an error please let me know so I can correct it.

Photo Editing: After you place an order I crop and sharpen the photo and make any correction necessary to turn out a pleasing photo. Editing may also include taking distractions out of a photo, like a person.

Ordering Rodeo Photos:

I take 3000+ photos at each rodeo performance.  A typical rodeo has 2+ performances.  That equates to some 6,000 photos.  I try to download the photos to my computer while you still remember being in the rodeo. I've been able to get them up the next day, but if I get backlogged, I usually get them online within a week.  Photo orders are usually filled within a few days.

I cannot edit every photo before posting them. However, time allowing, I try to edit one photo from each contestant group of photos, so you can see what a photo you choose will look like. Viewing photos that I have cropped and edited, I think you will be happy with my ability to create a great photo for you.

Lighting at an arena varies from full sunlight to poorly light at night.  My camera has its limits. Enter Photoshop and other software to create a respectable photo.  Further, sometimes there are objects in a photo that detract from a photo, like the backend of a judge or another photographer.  These will be removed if possible.

Ordering non-rodeo photos: The non-rodeo photos on display are ready for delivery. Call for a price on Fine Art paper, canvas or metal.

Print sizes: I have included the basic print sizes on my order pages.  If you need a size that is not listed please call or email for a quote.

Print prices: The prices on the Order pages are for Luster, a semi-gloss paper.  The Lab can also print photos on Fine Art paper, canvas and metal.

Multi-image Packages are for multiple prints of the same photo.

Prints: Are offered on Pro surface E - a luster, a semi-gloss paper.  Call for a price on Fine Art paper, canvas or metal. Specify if you prefer a landscape (horizontal) or portrait (vertical) format. If I do not think your choice makes for the best photo I will email or call you.

Rodeo Artwork:  Truning a rodeo photo into an artwork creates a very emotional picture of the event. It can take several hours to remove the ride from a photo.  If you find a photo you want created into a Rodeo Artwork I charge a non-refundable $85 for this service.

The posted price for a Custom Artwork print is the artwork service and the print.

After the Artwork has been completed on a photo it is posted under the Artwork Category. The cost of a second print is just the cost of the print.

Print recommendation:  Rodeo Artwork looks best on canvas or a non-glossy paper, preferably a Fine Art Matte paper.  When you place your order let me know if you refer the photo to be cropped landscape (horizontal) or portrait (vertical) format.  If I do not think your choice makes for the best format I will email or call you.

Soft Background: I find a standard rodeo photo often has a lot of background distraction, as you can see in the photo below.  It is hard to distinguish the ride from the background clutter, making it difficult to appreciate the power and emotion of the ride.  By blurring the background the ride stands out, still leaving enough of the rodeo flavor in the photo. I charge a non-refundable $35 for this service.

The posted price is a combination of the background softening service and the cost of the print.

After the photo is edited I post the photo.  The cost of a second print is just the cost of the print.

Prints: Offered on Pro surface E - a luster, semi-gloss paper and Fine Art Matte.  Call for a price on Fine Art paper. Specify if you prefer a landscape or portrait format. If I do not think your choice makes for the best format I will email or call you.

Black and White Photos: I charge a non-refundable $10 to convert a color photo to black and white.  There is some additional enhancement to make a color photo look good in B&W.  When you place your order, select the size photo you want. The total price will be a combination of the B&W service and the cost of the print.

Prints: Offered on Pro surface E - a luster, semi-gloss paper. Call for a price on Fine Art paper. Specify if you prefer a landscape or portrait format.

Custom work: I am happy to accommodate any form of artwork for you.  I can put your photo into a scenic background, such as a prairie, or create a rodeo poster with your photo in it.  Call or email me with your ideas and I’ll give you a quote.  If you have specific a background you want me to use email the photo to me.  This is a copy of my business card. I use a 3x5 post card printed with photos on both sides to show my work.

Digital Download: You will be emailed a HD-Resolution 1200x1920 pixles copy of the photo.  This does not give you copyrights to this photo.  You can only use the photo for personal prints.  If you plan to use if for a commercial endeavor, call me for permission and we can negotiate a price.

I like to get a fair price for my work, but at the same time I realize ordering more than one print can be prohibitive for some folk.  I can print an 11x14 photo on high quality paper on my printer for five dollars.  There are websites offering canvas prints for very reasonable prices. If you need multiple prints, your best price is to order a digital download and print the photos yourself.
